In 2021, the Bank has drafted and implemented the Manual for Managing Environmental and Social Impact of Proposed Financing. It superseded the Bank’s Social and Environmental Management Policy applied since 2015. The Manual makes the lending process framework more sustainable and regulates the assessment of all incoming banking transactions, differentiating the scope and format of S&E due diligence by type of financing and applicability of an international standard. The Manual also has an annex with MKB’s sustainable financing taxonomy based on both national and international requirements.
Since 2021 the Bank classifies the project portion of its loan portfolio by categories of social and environmental risk, as reflected in our annual.
